Detours and access
The following detours will be in place during this closure:
Traveling from the east on 12 Avenue S.E.: Vehicles will be detoured around the Scotia Place construction site by going south on 5A Street S.E., then west on 14 Avenue S.E., and north or south on Stampede Trail/Olympic Way S.E.
Traveling from the west on 12 Avenue S.E.: Vehicles will be detoured around the Scotia Place construction site by going north on Olympic Way S.E. to 11 Avenue S.E. They will then travel south on 5 Street S.E., getting back onto eastbound on 12 Avenue S.E.
Access to Macleod Trail and downtown from the east: Vehicles will turn north on 6 Street S.E. to 11 Avenue S.E. as they do now.
The south pedestrian sidewalk along 12 Avenue S.E. between Stampede Trail and 5 Street S.E. will be closed. Pedestrians should use the north sidewalk.
To minimize delays, consider:
Using 25 Avenue S.E. for reduced construction impacts
Entering via Flores LaDue Parade for direct access from Macleod Trail
Taking Calgary Transit (Victoria Park/Stampede LRT station is nearby)
Parking at Platform Innovation Centre and Parkade or the 11 Avenue Lot and walking via 4 Street S.E./Stampede Trail S.E.
