About the Event

It’s time for the annual cleaning! Our event takes place on September 5th. Each year the City of Calgary Waste and Recycling Services and Community Standards partner up with Community Associations to help residents get rid of unwanted household items and property waste. The event saves residents a trip to the landfill for items that do not fit in their waste and recycling carts and for residents that do not have cart service by providing three packer trucks with crews (two for waste and one for organic materials). This service is free to all Calgarians.

The trucks will arrive at 9:00 am and will leave at 2:00 pm sharp. Our agreement with the City obliges us to turn people away at 2:00 pm, so make sure to come early.  Other services provided: Electronics & metal recycling Free/Swap table Charitable donations to the WINS (Women in Need Society)  The following items MAY NOT be brought to the clean-up site:

  • tires
  • household chemicals
  • car batteries
  • home appliances
  • propane tanks
  • glass
  • paint
  • liquids
  • Railroad ties

There will be a pick-up service for Ramsay residents who can't bring their items to the site. To arrange a pick-up, please contact Dave at neoublee@telusplanet.net to make arrangements.

This event is run entirely by volunteers. Volunteer shifts are 8:30-11:00 and 11:00-2:00. Lunch will be provided for volunteers. To sign up, please email Dave at neoublee@telusplanet.net and provide your name and cell phone number. Your help will make this a fantastic event!
